“The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts. Those who decide to use leisure as a means of mental development, who love good music, good books, good pictures, good company, good conversation, are the happiest people in the world. And they are not only happy in themselves, they are the cause of happiness in others.”- William Lyon Phelps
My bliss.
A fall evening, a fire, accoustic guitar, great family and friends surrounded by little people snuggled up in my lap. Blissful.

Who is more foolish, the child afraid of the dark or the man afraid of the light? ~Maurice Freehill
See this spider.
The writing spider....*do note, if this is not a Writing Spider found in the piedmont of NC by no means should you take it upon yourself to inform said photographer of otherwise. kapeesh?
This spider came one sunny July day to my back deck. It lived among the shrubs. Most of you know I have a 7&8 year old boys. Spiders are neat. To the mom...ehhh...sorta scary. Until this year.
I have come to love this spider. My boys basically hand fed the little guy or...big guy..ha...beattles and small bugs. He put on a show, would wrap them tight and suck the blood out in front of the brothers as if we purchased him from the pet store. He moved his web the other day. Right above the overhang on the door, close to the back porch light. I nearly ran face first into the big guy...not to be confused as little guy when one meets him face to face at dawn. Lovely. So, I took a stick and carefully moved him to the woods. My little boy found him the other day at another door entrance that is never used and I was glad to see him return.
It was the summer their mama didn't squash the spider...
and the year the spider taught her a whole lot about life and letting go of fears.
Last weeks post and I'll be caught up on the posting of 52 week project! :)

I think it ticks God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.... People think pleasing God is all God care about. But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back. ~Alice Walker, The Color Purple, 1982

Most people give up just when they're about to achieve success. They quit on the one yard line. They give up at the last minute of the game, one foot from a winning touchdown.-- Ross Perot

Sneak Peek: Madison C.
Sweet sweet Madison! Something precious about this little girl. Maybe it's the fact that I've had the pure pleasure and honor of photographing her sweet face since before she was even born as her parents came to me for maternity portraits, or...or maybe it's the fact that I get the sweetest hugs when I walk in her door..or..or maybe it's the fact that her mama is one of my bestest girly girls since high school days...what ever it is...it's something precious and regardless...MEET MADISON!
Precious.
Amazing.
Sweet and Terrific Three Year Old MADISON!
More to come...Promise...Check back soon! :)

Sneak Peek: Moose Family
...something precious when a family gets out of the car and as they walk down the walk with the photographer the daddy tells his little girls "you girls look so very pretty today" and grabs his wifes hand and smiles proudly...It was basically at that moment that I took a deep breath and thought to myself.." I love love love love my job". Cassie and Mike are blessed by two pretty little ladies and it was a PURE pleasure to spend an afternoon recently capturing their gorgeous family! More to come!! Promise!!

52 Image Project: { 4/52}
“Hindsight, I think, is a useless tool. We, each of us, are at a place in our lives because of innumerable circumstances, and we, each of us, have a responsibility to move along life’s road, to find a better path if this one does not suit, or to walk happily along this one if it is indeed our life’s way. Changing even the bad things that have gone before would fundamentally change who we are, and whether or not that would be a good thing, I believe, it is impossible to predict. So I take my past experiences… and try to regret nothing.”
